After starring at Foss High School in Tacoma Fletcher Jenkins became one of only two players who didn’t red shirt their freshman season at UW. In his four seasons playing for Don James Jenkins played on teams that went 36 and 11. He was an All Pac 10 selection and second team All American in 1981. He played in back to back Rose Bowls for the Dawgs and ended his career at UW with a Rose Bowl win over Iowa. Jenkins was drafted in the seventh round of the 1982 NFL draft by the Colts. he spent one season with Baltimore and two years with the Los Angeles Express of the USFL.
