Zimmeran was the first Duck to win the award and one of four Morris Trophy winners to have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He drafted in the 1984 NFL Supplemental Draft by the New York Giants but signed with the USFL Los Angeles Express. He joined the Minnesota Vikings after two years in the USFL and finished his 11-year NFL Hall of Fame career with the Denver Broncos where he played his final game on  the winning team in Super Bowl XXXII . He was a seven-time Pro Bowl selection, five-time first-team All-Pro, three-time second-team All-Pro and NFL All-Decade team for both the 80’s & 90’s.
