George Achica joined fellow Trojan Bruce Matthews as the first teammates to win the Morris Trophy in the same year. He was a four year letterman at USC and a 1982 All American. Achica won USC’s Defensive Player of the Game award versus UCLA in 1981 when he blocked UCLA’s final-second field goal attempt to preserve a one point USC win and knock the Bruins out of the Rose Bowl (photo). He was drafted in the third round of the 1983 NFL draft by the Colts and played for the Colts in 1985, as well as the Los Angeles Express in the United States Football League. Born in American Samoa.
